Moose are a striking and iconic presence in Yellowstone National Park, where they thrive in the park's diverse habitats, including wetlands, forests, and river valleys. Known for their impressive size, with adult males, or bulls, reaching up to 1,500 pounds and sporting broad, palmate antlers, moose are often spotted near water sources, especially during the warmer months when they feed on aquatic plants. While their solitary nature makes them more elusive than other large mammals, moose are an important part of Yellowstone’s ecosystem, playing a role in shaping plant communities and serving as prey for predators like wolves and bears.
